We’re not reinventing the colour wheel, just touching up the roots.

Slay The Spectrum 2.0 is a two-day, hands-on CMY colour theory and wig artistry experience designed to take colour theory out of the textbook and put it into practice.

The two days are designed to work together as one complete learning experience, with CMY and wig education woven throughout BOTH days. Each part builds on the last, giving you time to understand the why, put it into practice and see the theory working in your own hands.

Because of this, places are booked for the full two-day experience rather than as individual days.

Across the two days, we’ll cover:

• CMY colour theory and the science behind colour
• Understanding dominant pigment
• Colour shifting and stacking
• Formulation and intentional colour mixing
• Planning colour placement and creating your individual design
• Hands-on colour exercises to make theory visual
• Understanding and preparing your wig as a canvas
• Working with HD lace human-hair wigs
• Full wig colouring from planning through to finished piece
• Real-time colour troubleshooting and adjusting formulations
• Applying CMY theory throughout the creative process
• Lace frontal fitting and finishing
• Photographing your completed work
• Translating what you’ve learned into both vivid and natural colour
• Brand-agnostic colour theory you can use with whichever colour line you work with

The wig isn't simply the project we work on after learning the theory — it's part of how we learn it. Throughout both days, we use the wig as our canvas to physically explore formulation, placement, shifting, stacking and troubleshooting.

Although we use wigs and vivid colour to make CMY easier to see and understand, everything you learn can be taken back behind the chair and applied to natural colour just as much as vivids.

What You’ll Need to Bring

Please make sure you bring:

• 22.5" canvas wig block
• Wig block tripod
• Clips
• Combs and sectioning tools
• Water spray bottle
• Hairdryer
• Flat iron
• Your usual styling tools
• Detangling brush

Your 22.5" canvas wig block and tripod are essential, as we’ll be working with the wigs across both days.
